Meet the Library Staff
Amy Baars, Library Media Specialist
Welcome to the Jefferson Elementary Library! I'm thrilled to be here as your school librarian, where I’ve had the privilege of sharing a love for reading and learning since 2022. I’m married to my husband DJ, and together we have a lively household with our seven amazing kids. Outside of the library, you might find me on a family road trip or cheering on the KC Current!
Books are my passion, whether I'm delving into a Stephen King thriller, exploring Nnedi Okorafor's worlds, or recommending beloved authors like Eric Carle, Lois Ehlert, and Mo Willems to our young readers. I can’t wait to help each student find books they love and spark a lifelong joy for reading and learning. Come visit and let’s discover something new together!
Guide to Book Care
- Keep your books in a safe place.
- Return your books on time.
- Do not eat or drink while reading library books.
- Wash and dry your hands before reading library books.
- Keep books away from pets and little ones. They do not know how to take care of books!
- Never draw or write in a library book!
- Always use a bookmark!
- If the library book has been damaged, bring it to your librarian. They will repair it if they can. DO NOT REPAIR THE BOOK YOURSELF! Your librarian has the right tools and training to fix books.
- If you lose your book or it is damaged while in your care, you will need to pay to replace it. Talk to your librarian.
